A. Troy Hunter is a Neutral at Pacific ADR and the co-founder of Injury Law Group NW. His practice aims to help the people of Northwest Washington who have been injured by another’s negligence in a motor vehicle accident, slip/trip and fall, construction injury, or due to medical malpractice or other instances of negligent or reckless misconduct.

Troy is a graduate of the University of Washington and the University of Washington School of Law. Soon after passing the bar, Troy had the honor of working with the preeminent plaintiffs’ personal injury attorney, Tom Chambers, who went on to serve on the Washington State Supreme Court. While in Law School, Troy received Moot Court honors, earned an International Award for Excellence in Mediation and was recognized for his outstanding skills in trial advocacy by the National Order of the Barristers.

As a practicing attorney, Troy has been peer-rated as AV Preeminent (5 out of 5) by the prominent legal directory Martindale Hubbell.

Troy spent 16 years practicing insurance defense litigation, mostly as a partner at the prestigious defense firm, Floyd, Pflueger & Ringer. There he defended insurance companies and their corporate clients against diverse claims for personal injury and wrongful death and property damage due to fire loss and construction defects.

He has argued cases at every level in Washington, from district courts to the State Supreme Court. In addition, Troy has effectively mediated hundreds of cases to resolution. As a result of this vast experience on both sides of the litigation arena, coupled with the ability to really listen to what is being said (or often not said), Troy is quickly able to understand and appreciate the interests and motivations on all sides of a given dispute. This helps facilitate mutual understanding so that commonality can be explored, and resolution ultimately achieved.

Troy’s skills and experience are put to good use as a true neutral at Pacific ADR where he helps parties find and stand on common ground and achieve meaningful resolutions to their claims, avoiding expensive and uncertain trial outcomes.

When he’s not practicing law, Troy likes to spend time with his four grandkids, his three dogs, and supporting NW Canine Coalition, a non-profit founded by his wife, Kathleen. NWCC’s mission is to shine a light on special-needs dogs caught in the adoption system and help them find loving homes.
