​Over the course of his legal career, William 'Bill' Cornell has represented individuals and small to mid-sized businesses in a wide variety of litigation including construction defect, real estate, personal injury, product liability, business and other disputes.  He is also an experienced corporate attorney, providing risk management and related advice to a variety of clients including developers, contractors, landlords and other real estate professionals.

 

Bill has represented defendants and plaintiffs in jury and bench trials and in arbitration.  Bill uses his litigation experience to provide clients with advice in negotiating and drafting contracts and handles certain business and real estate transactions.

In addition to joining Pacific ADR as a Mediator and Arbitrator, Bill is a member of the Seattle based firm Preg, O'Donnell & Gillett. In the past, Bill was also the managing partner at a west coast law firm and previously had served as director of litigation management for Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company, and as in-house counsel for a regional homebuilder.

Bill is admitted to the Washington and Oregon Bar Associations, and is also a member of the Master Builders Association. He is a regular speaker at various construction-related seminars including West Coast Casualty, WDTL, The Seminar Group, MC Consulting and CLM. Mr. Cornell has an "AV" rating from Martindale-Hubbell.  Under the Martindale-Hubbell criteria, an AV Rating shows that a lawyer has reached the height of professional excellence and is recognized for the highest levels of skill, integrity and ethics.

Bill is an experienced mediator and arbitrator, and has served in this capacity in a wide variety of disputes. Bill's tenacity, personality, and knowledge makes him one of the most successful mediators in his field.

When not assisting clients, Bill enjoys bicycling, adventure motorcycling, scuba diving, cooking and traveling.
